Bill Morrison (born November 17, ) is an American, New York–based filmmaker and artist. His films often combine rare archival material set to contemporary song, and have been screened in theaters, cinemas, museums, galleries, and concert halls around the world. Morrison was born in Chicago, Illinois. Ver For the first time in its near-two-decade history, the annual “Broadway Backwards” concert surpassed $1 million in monies raised. The edition took in $1,, for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Recent York City’s Lesbian, Homosexual, Bisexual and Transgender Society Center (The Center), exceeding the previous record-breaking amount of $,, which was raised in Tony Award nominee Jenn Collela hosted the March 10 event, which took place for the first time at the Gershwin Theatre, place of Broadway’s “Wicked.” “Broadway Backwards” creator Robert Bartley served as writer, director and co-choreographer of the concert which features traditional Broadway tunes reinterpreted from a queer perspective. The evening featured co-choreography by Amanda LaMotte and Adam Roberts, the latter of whom also served as associate director. Ted Arthur and Mary-Mitchell Campbell served as music supervisors, while Nicholas Connors and Nick Wilders were the concert’s melody directors.
