Many gay men grew up feeling ashamed of not conforming to cultural expectations about “real boys” or “real men.” Especially during middle and high school, they may have been bullied or publicly humiliated because of their difference—made to feel like outsiders and not “one of the boys.” They may have create it easier relating to women than men, though they didn’t fully belong to the young woman group, either.
Every gay man I’ve seen in my practice over the years has had a conflicted, troubled relationship with his own masculinity, often shaping his behavior in destructive ways. Writing for Vice, Jeff Leavell captures the dynamic nicely: “Queer people, especially gay men, are established for dealing with a slew of self-doubts and anxieties in noxious ways. Gay men are liable to feel incredibly insecure over their masculinity, a benign of internalized homophobia that leads them to idolize 'masc 4 masc', 'gaybros' and [to] shame and oppress femme men.”

A new examine shows that lgbtq+ men really are leaner than vertical men. And conversely, it also start that gay women tend to be heavier than their heterosexual counterparts.
Boston researchers determined that lgbtq+ women were more than twice as likely as linear women to be obese, while lgbtq+ men were 50 percent less likely to be obese compared to their heterosexual counterparts, according to a notify published in the American Journal of Public Health.
After scrutinizing a health survey of more than 67, Massachusetts residents between the ages of 18 and 64, the researchers found that 14 percent of gay men were obese versus 21 percent of vertical men. The Oldest Known Gay Man?
April 7, -- Archaeologists in the Czech Republic hold unearthed the grave of what may be the remains of the oldest known homosexual or trans man.
The prehistoric body dates to the Copper age -- or to years ago -- and was buried in a style that was typically reserved for women.
The male skeleton was found on its side, facing east, and was surrounded by national jugs, objects previously seen only in female graves. An oval, egg-shaped container, usually associated with female burials, was also create at the feet of the skeleton.
"From history and ethnology, we know that people from this period took funeral rites very seriously, so it is highly unlikely that this positioning was a mistake," lead archaeologist Kamila Remisova Vesinova told the U.K.'s Telegraph.
Men of the period were buried with weapons -- stone battle axes and flint knives -- none of which were found in the Czech grave.
