Club Lips, Flint&#;s Newest Nightclub to Open Its Doors Soon

A new nightclub will be opening on Saginaw Street in Flint.

The all-new Club Lips is Flint, Michigan's newest and only full-time LGBTQ+ hangout. The grand opening is arrange for Friday, March 3rd, , and is located at S. Saginaw Highway in Flint.

Beginning on Parade 3rd, Club Lips will be open seven days a week from 4 pm until 2 am. The grand opening celebration will feature the following:

  • Pride Power Hour from 4 pm until 7 pm
  • Drink specials all night long
  • Drag Queen shows begin at 9 pm and will feature Crystal Harding, Whitney Naomi, Sirinity Sapphire, Lucy Misfit, and Mimi Southwest.

    The Copa

    When I moved out of the Flint area to go to college at Central Michigan University, I was about 90 minutes from Flint. Several homosexual friends whom I met at C.M.U. with the G.L.A.S.S. organization, (Gay, Womxn loving womxn Association for Student Support) would pile into a few cars on a Friday night and grab a road trip to the Copa. Those trips were exciting as we were all coming out together and finding who we were. The Copa, our Friday sanctuary created long lasting friendships that I still have today.

    My very first partner I ever had I met upstairs near the balcony at the "new" Copa. After some convincing by a friend of mine that I was actually being cruised, I asked him for a first dance. The lyric, "Lady in Red" by Chris DeBurgh. We were together for about a year and it was wonderful to feel the love of another dude for the first age. It was something I never experienced before, but had missed so much before I found it.
